FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ENCORE NEW PARTNER WITH
THE VICTORY JUNCTION GANG
In keeping with its ongoing commitment to give back to the community, Winston-Salem-based Encore Group has become a supporting partner of The Victory Junction Gang Camp, a North Carolina camp created for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses, with a donation of 500 custom mugs intended for resale. The not-for-profit camp is supported by donations from individuals and businesses, and is a special charity of many NASCAR drivers in the area.
Encore has been a major NASCAR licensee since 1998, creating a wide range of gift items, including mugs and steins. In its initial support of Victory Junction, Encore has designed a custom mug with The Victory Junction Gang logo that will be sold through the camp to benefit its programs.
"It is our privilege to be able to add our support to this very worthwhile organization," said Eldridge (Redge) Hanes, Encore Chairman. "Victory Junction brings smiles and happiness to these deserving children for a week or a weekend, giving them respite from their daily challenges. We look forward to a long relationship with The Victory Junction Gang and doing our part to make a difference in these young lives."
Surrounded by beautiful hardwood forests, Victory Junction Gang Camp is located in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina and opened its doors in 2004. The Camp was built on 72 acres that were generously donated by Richard and Lynda Petty, and serves hundreds of children and their families in North and South Carolina and Virginia.
Victory Junction Gang Camp has a racing theme with the sights, sounds, look and feel of a race track. The Camp is comprised of 46 buildings, including the Goody's Body Shop medical center, the Hendrick Motorsports Fuel Stop dining hall, the Silver Theater, the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America water park, Adam's Race Shop, the Michael Waltrip Operation Marathon Sportscenter, Jessie's Horse Power Garage, Jimmie Johnson's Victory Lanes and much more!
The Victory Junction Gang Camp is a member of the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps. Actor Paul Newman started the first camp, the Hole in the Wall Gang, in 1988 and has been a driving force in the Association ever since. Victory Junction was founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their son Adam after visiting one of the Association camps in Florida.
"We are fortunate to have such enthusiastic support from companies like The Encore Group, and we welcome them as a partner of The Victory Junction Gang," said Jordan Washburn, a Victory Junction co-founder and a member of its board of directors. "We appreciate Encore's generous donation, and we are looking forward to working together for years to come."
