ENCORE AND SPIN SHADES SIGN EXCLUSIVE LICENSE

 

Winston-Salem, NC - An exclusive licensing agreement between The Encore Group and Spin Shades gives Encore the unique opportunity to create the heat-motion shades with designs and logos for its many licensed lines.  In addition, Encore is licensed to design and produce non-license Spin Shades for the Christian-based market.

Spin Shades are miniature toppers for nightlights that slowly turn simply from the warmth of the bulb.  The artistic designs of the shades cast an ambiance of soft, colorful illumination and shadows.

"This is an exciting new license with a myriad of product opportunities," says Ken Siemers, Encore executive vice president of sales and marketing.  "Spin Shades is a well established company, and its unique product is highly regarded for its beauty and originality.  Encore is proud to have been granted this exclusive license, and we are committed to bringing a new level of creativity to market."

Spin Shades, based in Ventura, California, is a family-owned and operated private company.  Co-owner Peter Wood recalls how his grandmother would place similar little shades over tree ornaments, casting beautiful designs in the room as the shades turned.  Years later, Peter and his wife Wendy found the shades and placed them on their own Christmas tree.

"Our son, Eric, loved the shades and their varied effects as much as his father had," says Wendy Gayner, president of Spin Shades.  "It was our motivation to recreate the shades so others could share the joy and beauty they have brought to our own home.  We are very enthusiastic about our new association with Encore, and we look forward to their forthcoming collection of Spin Shades."

A second company with the same owners - New Décor Ventures, Inc. - designs and produces reusable appliqués for ceiling fan blades.  Encore has also signed an exclusive agreement to create both licensed and Christian product in this category.  The vinyl appliqués are sold in 5-piece sets.
